Family Building Blocks is the crisis relief nursery serving Marion & Polk counties in Oregon.

We work to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing services for high-risk families who have children six weeks to five years old.

Family Building Blocks helps more than 700 children a year by providing:

  • Therapeutic classes for young children
  • Intensive parent training
  • Educational home visits
  • Emergency respite care & crisis response
  • Mental health services
  • Supervised parent-child visitations
  • Fostering Attachment Drug Court

Job Summary: Coordinate FBB’s volunteer program; develop and implement a Volunteer Recruitment and Retention Plan; ensure that volunteers receive the training necessary to be successful. Work as a member of the Development Team to expand community involvement in and financial support of FBB.

Position: Site Director/Gracie’s Place
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Job Summary:
Responsible for the development of community relationships and supervision of the Therapeutic Early Childhood Program at Gracie’s Place in West Salem; including administration and maintenance of the facility, data collection in concert with FBB and including documentation necessary to assure compliance with state’s licensing and program requirements; and assisting in the development and implementation of new services.  Directly supervises Teacher/Interventionists, Teaching Assistants, Substitute Teachers, Home Visitors, and clerical support staff.  Implements, oversees, and performs a variety of activities to support Family Building Blocks’ programs.

Position: Cook
Hours: 40 Hours per week
Job Summary: Plan nutritious meals and snacks for infants, toddlers, preschool children, parents and teachers.  Prepare meals in accordance with established standards of nutrition, health and sanitation.  Perform administrative tasks in support of the food preparation processes, including the maintenance of adequate records.  Comply with all USDA Food Program Guidelines.
